Xvfb on Ubuntu 16.04
I want to install the Xvfb package on a Vagrantbox with Ubuntu 18.04.
Unfortunately it doesn't work without special libraries from Parallels. The tools are installed, but without the X server.
The error message is:
/usr/bin/Xvfb: error while loading shared libraries: libPrlDRI.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
How do I get the libraries from the parallel tools into my system?

Linux screen goes black when switching away from full screen linux vm
When I run an ubuntu or mint Linux VM in full-screen mode the screen blanks out when I switch away from the screen to the desktop or any other full-screen app. This seems to happen immediately and I have not been able to turn this off. Anyone know how to stop this from happening. I am running Parallels desktop pro 15 on a 2019 MacBook pro.

Parallels tools will not install in Tumbleweed kernel 5.0.1-1-2
I get an error. The log is at http://susepaste.org/view//96054230
I originally installed it successfully, after doing zypper dup, and my VM booted into graphics mode. But I was informed there were 516 updates and to do zypper dup again. It would no longer boot into graphics mode. And The parallels tools install died.

Debian 10.1/amd64 install failure (self-resolution/FYI)
While attempting to build updated vagrant boxes with Packer (and then testing manually via the Parallels GUI), I found Debian 10.1/amd64 would consistently freeze on a black screen right after the boot command was run. The i386 installer worked OK, and amd64 worked fine on vmware/virtualbox.
Anyway adding vga=normal fb=false to the boot command resolved the issue.

My conf :

Black screen after most recent Kali update (2019.4)
Opened up my Kali image this evening and ran an apt update && apt upgrade, and after reboot the screen is black.
I have the latest version of Parallels 15 and the most recent toolbox; I also have the grub fix installed for the video drivers issue for Kali.
I have disabled 3D acceleration and have also toggled the grub fix on and off (neither made a difference). I am running Kali Release 2019.4 (5.2.0-kali3-amd64).
What other type of information is needed to troubleshoot, is there...

Parallels 15 breaks auto mounting of removable USB drives on Ubuntu / Debian
When using both Debian and Ubuntu (I didn't try any others) under Parallels 14 auto mounting of USB drives works great, they get mounted under /media/parallels/<LABEL>, you can eject them. everything is super. However after upgrading to Parallels 15 this no longer works.
I have confirmed that it's not a Parallels Tools issue, because if I upgrade to Parallels 15 and install Parallels Tools, then boot the VM in Parallels 14 without touching anything auto mount works immediately. This...

Xorg 1.20 not compatible! Latest 13.3.1-43365 fixes nothing!
The hotfix or unofficial one https://gist.github.com/rudolfratusinski/a4d9e3caff11a4d9d81d2e84abc9afbf
might resolves some of your issues. However, it remains the same for Arch / Geetoo / Future Manjaro users.
The screen cannot start at all.
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE you will find that:

Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libshadow.so
What are you doing management? Playing ping-pong?
A workaround:
download these three packages:...

Slow motion movie in several linux os parallels 14
Hi, guys !
I've tried Ubuntu, Elementary OS, Mint, Fedora, all the same. Beside a general slow performance, the movies are in slow motion (only the sound). Windows 7 pro works fine (but did already in old version of parallels). I had tried several adjustments in configuration panel of each linux Os, but nope; won't do better. I've got a MacBook Pro 2,4 gh, core 2 duo, 16go ram, ssd drive, Mojave Os (works fine). Any suggestion to solve this ? Thanks in advance.

Never update Parallels and a kernel on the same day...
Updated Fedora 30 to kernel 5.3.5-200 this morning. Tools rebuilt all the usual stuff: drm, eth, fs, fs_freeze, and tg.
Then I saw Parallels 15.1.0 was ready, so I updated to that and rebuilt Tools again, which also seemed to go as normal...
Until you notice that there's no /usr/src/parallels-tools-15.1.0.47107 folder and a yellow triangle on the VM window (when you exit convergence mode) saying Tools needs to be reinstalled. And yet, there are ko.xz's (and ko's?) are in...

Ubuntu 19.10 and Parallels Tools
Hi,
Installed the latest Ubuntu release (19.10). Installation of the Parallels Tools is not working.
Getting a message: "An error occurred when installing Parallels Tools. Please go to /var/log/parallels-tools-install.log for more information."
Errors like "incompatible-pointer-types" and "could not build kernel modules" appears.
Just not ready for latest kernel that ships with the new Ubuntu and flavors?
